My school district became a "Digital 1:1" district at the onset of the 2012-2013 academic year. It has been an interesting journey! I am a secondary science teacher, currently teaching seventh grade life science and eighth grade physical science. I want this blog to be a place to share information about science educational technology of all sorts, get feedback, share tips about what works and doesn't work for me and others so that we can benefit, refine our practices, and be more effective teachers.
To start, I have been collecting pins on a Pinterest board. The board is my "parking lot" for links, leads, things that look interesting or helpful. I have other similar boards where I collect non-tech (ie, ideas for paper based activities) ideas for classroom management in general or life and physical science classroom-specific inspiration.
My primary plan is to use these ideas and report on them here. If you have used any of them, please elaborate! We learn from each other! I am inspired by what other people do, and often a little tweak will make a great idea work a bit better for my particular situation. If you have a suggestion, something that works great for you, questions about anything I post here, please start a conversation or add to one. Join in, but please keep it positive and constructive!
My secondary purpose for this blog is to try it out so that I see how it works before trying a classroom blog with my students next year.
So...... Here goes!
